Why is there a popping sound when a joint is adjusted?
Adjustment of a joint may result in release of gas bubbles between the joints that make a popping sound – it’s exactly the same as when you “crack” your knuckles. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint that results in gas bubbles being released. There is no pain involved.

What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a specialty medical profession that focuses on the nervous, muscular, and skeletal (neuromusculoskeletal) systems- primarily the spine. Chiropractors believe that a person's spine and health are related in a fundamental way, and the meeting point between the two is in the nervous system. As such they will examine the biomechanics, structure, and function of the patient's spine.
Chiropractors generally practice a hands-on and drug free approach that includes examination, treatment, and diagnosis. Common patient management involves a procedure known as “spinal manipulation” or “spinal adjustments” to the spine or other parts of the body. The goal is to correct alignment problems, ease pain, and support the body's natural ability to heal itself. A chiropractic physician can also have broad diagnostic skills and are trained to help with rehabilitative exercises and lifestyle choices that can impact the patient's health.
Chiropractic care is the primary method of treatment in many cases including lower back pain. Other times chiropractic care works in complement with other treatments to help relieve musculoskeletal problems that exist in a multitude of medical conditions.
