Why is there a popping sound when a joint is adjusted?
Adjustment of a joint may result in release of gas bubbles between the joints that make a popping sound – it’s exactly the same as when you “crack” your knuckles. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint that results in gas bubbles being released. There is no pain involved.

Yucha Medical Pain Management & Chiropractic Rehabilitation treats a plethora of body problems that can be caused by numerous reasons. Accidents that cause injuries, a build up of stress, an aging body, and plenty more can lead to discomfort and pain in several areas of the body. The doctors and staff at Yucha Chiropractic are trained to help reduce or completely relieve each person that walks through the door of their pain. Below is a list of some problems that are normally treated at Yucha Chiropractic.
Car Accident Injuries
After a car accident it is important to seek out chiropractic care immediately to avoid the effects of whiplash, the sudden jarring movement of the head. This is the most common injury after a car accident, and effects may not be felt right after the crash but can manifest over time. When whiplash occurs it can destabilize the spine and cause severe pain as well as blurred vision, neck pain, headaches, dizziness, should pain, reduced neck motion, arm pain, neck stiffness, and low back pain.
Sports Injuries
Sports injuries most commonly appear in the muscles, tendons, and ligaments of the ankles, knees, shoulders, elbows, and spine. These injuries are usually the result of the overuse of any of these areas. Chiropractic adjustments can help the injured area return to normal function.
Headaches & Migraines
Chiropractic care is a good treatment method for preventing headaches and migraines. People who receive chiropractic treatment report fewer migraines through spinal manipulation and by learning different methods for preventing migraines and other forms of headaches in their lives.
Back Pain
Most people choose chiropractic care to relieve them from back pain. Chiropractors use hands-on spinal manipulation and other treatments to put the body's musculoskeletal structure back to its proper alignment.
Sciatica
Sciatica is a nerve issue, which can lead to chronic pain in the back, hips, and legs if not treated. Chiropractic treatment deals with the spinal column and is focused on proper alignment. This will relieve the nerve roots that are being compressed removing sciatica symptoms.
Herniated Disc
A herniated disc, also known as a slipped or ruptured disc, occurs when a spinal disc degenerates and the soft insides push against the outsides (sometimes going all the way through). This can put pressure on the surrounding nerves leading to lower back, leg, and hip pain. Chiropractic treatment works to re-align the disc and spine and remove resulting pressure and pain.
Neck Pain
The neck is very susceptible to pain and injury due to its flexibility and support of the head, which is usually a minimum of 12 pounds. Chiropractors will perform neck adjustments to improve the mobility of the spine and restore range of motion to the neck and adjoining muscles.
Chronic Pain
Regular chiropractic care can help to reduce the stress and tension that can result in chronic pain- most commonly in the back and neck. Chiropractic manipulations are used consistently to help manage chronic back pain.
Joint Pain
Any space where one bone connects with another is known as a joint. When joints move correctly, the muscles and ligaments function at an optimal level. Chiropractic treatment corrects any underlying joint dysfunction so that the body can restore its normal level of motion.
Pinched Nerves
Usually pinched nerves are the result of a joint that is pressing on a nerve, and this can cause pain, numbness, and tingling in separate areas of the body. Chiropractic treatment works to reposition the bones to relax the muscles and reduce pressure on the nerves.
